CAPTAIN SCHLEMMER SAYS POOR WEATHER COST VINE LAST YEAR

THE assessment over the winter at Sevenoaks Vine Cricket Club was that a bit of back luck with the weather was the main reason they missed out on promotion.
So, in preparing for the new season which starts on May 10 the work over the winter has focused mainly on how to develop talent within, rather than look to strengthen from outside the club with new recruits.
Vine finished third in the Kent Championship, just three points behind Holmesdale, who were promoted to the Premier League alongside Bromley another 38 points above them.
