French twin town visitors impressed in cake challenge

FRENCH taste buds were enlisted to judge Sevenoaks’ finest cakes and most perfect patisserie in a celebration of the town’s many artisan bakers.

There are now at least nine plying their trade in Sevenoaks and so the Friends of Pointoise decided to ask their town-twinning friends to test them out when they were visiting at the weekend.
The challenge went out to local bakers to let the French visitors taste their best cakes, buns and patisserie, and score them using the framework of the ‘Meilleure Boluangerie’ competition, a French TV show. Five were available to take part.
