TRYING OUT TRADITIONAL PUB BIRD IN THE BARLEY

THERE'S nothing quite like stopping off at a quaint country pub for some traditional home-cooked grub.

After a day out to Play Avenue in Messingham with my friend and the little ones during the Easter holidays, we decided to stop off on the way home for somewhere to eat.

Following a quick Google search for nearby restaurants, we came across Bird in the Barley, a gastro-pub situated on Northfield Road, just past the entrance sign in Messingham.

Parking up in the spacious car park, we then headed in, and I instantly fell in love with the interior - it was cosy, homely and traditional with beams on the ceilings, historic photographs on the walls and a log burner surrounded by sofas and chairs. It had the vibe you only get in really old English pubs, which I absolutely love.
