JOEY PENS DEAL AT THE IRON

DAWSON JOINS HOWE IN RETURNING TO SCUNTHORPE

THERE has been plenty of movement in and out of Scunthorpe United as they begin to build a squad for the National League.

The Iron have announced their first two signings of the summer, while also confirming new deals for key players from the promotion squad.

Joey Dawson and Declan Howe are the first new arrivals at Scunthorpe, with both returning to the club they played for in their youth.

The versatile forward Dawson came through the academy ranks at the Iron, and when he made his professional debut for them in August 2019, he was their youngest ever appearance maker.

He went on to join Scottish giants Celtic, featuring primarily for their B team.

He scored an impressive 20 goals in 21 appearances for the reserves while never making a full breakthrough for the first team.

On returning to Scunthorpe, Dawson said: "I’m buzzing to be back.
