SCUNTHORPE LOVELY LADIES IS CELEBRATING ITS FIRST ANNIVERSARY NEXT MONTH

- By DEBORAH HALL deborah.hall@reachplc.com @DeborahHall15

THE founder of a support group designed to bring lonely and isolated women together says its first year has been “unbelievable”.

Laura Cooper began being inundated with messages from women eager to find a listening ear among like minded souls, not long after she launched Scunthorpe Lovely Ladies.

Almost a year down the line, Laura says these past 12 months have been “incredible.”

“There are now 855 ladies on board and the number is going up every day. This membership, it’s gladdened my heart. It’s lovely to feel I am just doing some good when there is such a lot of hate and not-niceness out there.”

The informal group is all about friendship and shared, positive experi ences.
