Meet dino Rose... a new star in the Skye

AN island famed for its soaring peaks, castles and fishing villages has taken on a new guise, as home of a pack of American predators from 71 million years ago.

Rugged Skye provided a landscape similar to Alberta in Canada in the late Cretaceous period, according to BBC series Walking With Dinosaurs' senior executive producer Helen Thomas.

And viewers will be captivated by the results in the fourth episode next Sunday, entitled The Pack, in which Rose, a young Albertosaurus, will be brought to life.

This lighter and faster cousin of the Tyrannosaurus hunted in packs and was a formidable killer.
