ANTARCTIC CHALLENGE

ADVENTURER Jordan Wylie is aiming to make history by summiting at least one Antarctica mountain never conquered before.
The former soldier, 42, best known for starring in Channel 4's Hunted programme, has spent the past 18 months preparing for his expedition to the frozen wilderness.
He said: "I think it represents true exploration because it's going to somewhere that nobody has been. That's quite hard in this day and age, to find places on the planet that nobody's ever been to.
"To go to a place and attempt to climb a mountain or a series of mountains that nobody has ever stood on as an explorer or an adventurer is very exciting."
The peaks Jordan hopes to scale are in the southern half of Antarctica's unforgiving Ellsworth Mountains.
The area is so treacherous and unexplored that the mountains on Jordan's radar do not even have names.
The list of dangers he faces range from glaciers to deep crevasses and frostbite.
"I wouldn't say I'm scared, I'd say I'm very excited to get there and I can't wait," Jordan says enthusiastically.
