Wimbledon men's final knocked it out the park for excitement

WHAT a remarkable men's Wimbledon tennis final ("Jannik winner", Scottish Daily Express, July 14). With a scoreline of 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4, it looks far from an appetising and electric final. But it was all of that and more.

This was the day of world No.1 Jannik Sinner's redemption, keeping him in pole position and master of all he surveys.

Carlos Alcaraz was the favourite and the first set appeared to underline that impression, with Sinner failing to capitalise on a 4-2 lead in what must have been a reminder of his collapse in the Paris final, when Alcaraz took the glory.
