Scots peak attracts litter bugs
BEN Nevis has been named the most littered tourist destination in Scotland and the third most littered in the country, according to new research analysing visitor reviews.
The findings come from waste management specialists BusinessWaste.co.uk, who reviewed thousands of TripAdvisor entries to uncover which of the UK's top visitor attractions are most commonly associated with litter.
The 4,413-foot-high mountain was singled out after 0.66% of its 2,648 TripAdvisor reviews mentioned littering, a higher proportion than any other Scottish site analysed. Each year, more than 160,000 people climb or hike Ben Nevis.
