Watchdog to be called in over teen crash death

THE Police Investigations and Review Committee (PIRC) has been called in following a crash which left a teenage girl dead.
It is not yet clear why such steps have been taken.
The 17-year-old died in West Lothian following a collision between a car and a lorry. It happened at Boghead Roundabout in Bathgate just before midnight on Monday.
The girl, who was a passenger in a Volkswagen Polo, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 20-year-old male driver of the vehicle and an 18-year-old female passenger were taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious injuries.
