Warning as warrants take police off streets

A SOARING number of court warrants are dragging Scotland’s police off the streets and piling fresh strain on an already overstretched force, insiders warn.
Stark new figures show a 22% jump in warrants for Police Scotland in two years, up from 25,665 in 2023 to 31,367(2025) - with more than 10,000 still waiting to be implemented, 1919 magazine reports.
