Rodgers wants to focus on football after insider leaks

BRENDAN RODGERS is determined to draw a line under the Celtic civil war to focus on his side’s trophy chase.

Rodgers held crunch talks with under-fire chief executive Michael Nicholson after the Hoops boss’ blockbuster press conference on Friday, when he laid bare the club’s failures in the transfer window and slammed the “cowardly” club insider who briefed against him in a newspaper article.

Rodgers was tight-lipped on the mole following yesterday’s dramatic last-gasp 2-1 victory at Kilmarnock, insisting his “concentration” is solely on football after Kelechi Iheanacho’s controversial stoppage-time penalty.

He said: “Michael’s a good man. I’ve a really good relationship with him and Chris [McKay, finance chief], because they're the guys I deal with day-to-day.

"So, yes, we all know what it is we need to assess and be better at.
