Vile teen predator's sentence is an insult

SOMETIMES you read a story that makes your stomach churn. The case of 18-year-old Jimmy Tawse is one of them.

This vile predator sexually abused two 89-year-old women after pretending to be a therapist. He also attacked an 85-year-old and a 63-year-old woman. His sentence? Just seven years - of which he'll serve only four in custody.

Four years for destroying the lives of elderly women who trusted him. Four years for a series of assaults that will haunt those victims for the rest of their days. It's utterly disgraceful.

Let's be honest: the punishment doesn't fit the crime.

Tawse should have been locked up for at least 12 years, if not longer, and chemically castrated.

Because if you can do something so monstrous to women in their eighties and still expect to see daylight before you turn 25, then what message does that send to other predators?
