Scottish Daily Express
|August 08, 2025
HUNDRED-year-old Dorothea Barron gets stuck into helping rebuild her Second World War barracks as affordable homes.
The former Wren laid the first brick as construction began at the site near Port Edgar on the Firth of Forth.
She said: “This is so exciting, I feel so honoured! It’s worth being 100 for this!”
The heroine, who arrived in a black cab driven by the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans, said she felt her departed comrades “watching” her.
