VACLAV CERNY took out his frustration on the Ibrox dugout after being substituted midway through the second half of the 1-1 draw with Celtic.

- ANDY NEWPORT

But interim boss Barry Ferguson would far rather see that than his star player taking his removal from the action all in his stride.

The Czech winger lashed out at the acrylic glass with a couple of angry elbow blows after Ferguson brought on the fresh legs of Ianis Hagi in his place on 66 minutes with yesterday's derby still on a knife-edge.

The plan backfired when the Romanian himself was forced off less than 20 minutes after being introduced.

Still, caretaker boss Ferguson had no regrets and certainly wasn't backing down in the face of Cerny's irritated outburst.

"I'm the manager, I've got to make decisions," he insisted.

"And, if I feel I need to make changes, I'll make changes. I have no issue with people being disappointed.
