Under arrest cargo ship crash captain identified as a Russian national

THE captain of the Solong cargo ship, arrested after it crashed into an oil tanker in the North Sea, is a Russian national, the vessel’s owners said.
The Solong hit the Stena Immaculate off the east coast of Yorkshire on Monday, triggering a major response from emergency services.
Transport Minister Mike Kane told MPs on Wednesday there was “no evidence” of foul play.
ManslaughterA crew member of the Portuguese-flagged Solong is missing presumed dead after a search-and-rescue was called off. The 59-year-old captain was arrested by Humberside Police on Tuesday on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter.
