Tories slam SNP over 'brutal' tax plans for Scots

THE SNP Government has been slammed for its “brutal” taxation plans, with the Scottish Conservatives warning that the average Scot is set to be “hammered” by two left-wing governments “addicted to tax rises”.
The party said that, following a new analysis, the majority of full-time workers in Scotland could face a higher tax rate by 2029 under the current fiscal regime.
The average salary in Scotland is forecasted to grow to £44,746 in the next four years, rising by around 3% — putting many Scots above the Scottish Executive's current higher 42% tax band threshold.
