BERT ESSELINK insists every Dundee United player needs to take a long, hard look in the mirror after their “inexplicable” loss to Falkirk.

The 26-year-old was part of a defence that endured a torrid time against the free-flowing Bairns.

The dismal defeat means United have only won once in their last seven league games to sit four points off the top six.

Dutch defender Esselink said: “It’s tough.

“For me, at the moment, its still inexplicable how we lost this game 3-0 against Falkirk.

“From the start we were not in the game.
