|July 18, 2025
A TEENAGE boy has died after being hit by a car on a bridge in Ayrshire.

And another two children are in hospital after a car overturned in a crash on the A9 in the Highlands.
The fatal crash happened at about 5.10pm on Wednesday near Hurlford on the outskirts of Kilmarnock. The 14-year-old schoolboy was walking along a bridge on the A76 over Cessnock Water and died at the scene.
The driver of a Vauxhall Corsa and his two passengers were checked by paramedics and did not require hospital treatment. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 2706 of July 16.
Sergeant Brian Simpson said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and we are providing them with support as our enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of this incident.”
