Taxpayers pay £10k for Forbes' trip to Canada

THE Scottish Government spent more than £10,000 of taxpayers’ cash on flights and accommodation for Kate Forbes’ “bucket list” trip to Canada.

The Deputy First Minister visited Toronto and “magical” Nova Scotia earlier this month, including a “pilgrimage” to Cape Breton, where she said she planned to spend some time on a personal sightseeing holiday.

She told a Canadian TV news host: “It has been on my bucket list for a very long time... There are so many strong connections between Nova Scotia and Scotland.”
