Swinney condemns 'reckless fans' after weekend of mayhem

Celtic victory chaos and player poleaxed in Dundee
FIRST Minister John Swinney has condemned the behaviour of some football fans at the weekend as “utterly unacceptable”.
Celtic fans are under fire after thousands of them caused chaotic scenes when they assembled in Glasgow city centre on Saturday to celebrate the club’s Scottish Premiership title victory.
Nine arrests were made, while 15 people were charged with possession of pyrotechnics or offensive weap-ons, assault and public order offences. Six fixed penalty notices and four recorded police warnings were also issued after their game with St Mirren.
On the same day, Aberdeen defender Jack MacKenzie was seri-ously injured when part of a seat was thrown on to the pitch during scenes of disorder at the end of a match against Dundee United at Tannadice.
