GLASGOW WARRIORS blitzed the Bulls to move top of the URC table.

- BY GRAEME MACPHERSON

Franco Smith's side were fired up for this grudge match with their South African rivals.

It was a thriller that ebbed and flowed before Warriors pulled away in the second half to seal a precious victory.

The home side almost got off to a flier. Scott Cummings made a brilliant burst down the middle before passing to George Horne. It looked certain that the scrumhalf would get over the line only to be stopped by some last-gasp defending.

Glasgow, though, kept up the early pressure and it eventually told.

Matt Fagerson’s big carry took them close to the line. Horne was fast to the ruck, passing to Adam Hastings, who had Sione Tuipulotu outside of him.

The Scotland captain looked like he might be crowded out but he was able to wriggle clear to stretch for the line, right.

Hastings knocked over the conversion.

That was an early setback for the Bulls but they looked to hit back straight away.
