Spain bid for World 'exciting'

SPAIN is becoming an increasingly popular candidate to host the 2035 World Cup - with the prospect of games staged at iconic football venues such as the Nou Camp and Bernabeu.
World Rugby CEO Alan Gilpin was in Spain last month and was impressed with the set-up and the way the national government are ready to get behind the bid.
Gilpin is keen to bring the tournament back to Europe, with Australia hosting in 2027 and USA in 2031, but Spain face competition from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Japan.
