Devlin issues apology over the red he says killed Dons
NICKY DEVLIN apologised to his Aberdeen team-mates for his costly red card in their home defeat to Falkirk on Sunday.
The 31-year-old defender was sent off for the first time in his career for a challenge on Calvin Miller three minutes before the break. That sparked a momentum shift in the visitors' favour and Kyrell Wilson lashed in the only goal on 75 minutes.
The result left the Dons rooted to the foot of the Premiership table, without a goal or a point after three fixtures.
Asked if he apologised in the dressing room, Devlin replied: "Of course. I told them I didn't think we'd have lost the game if we had 11 players on the park.
"That completely falls on me.
I'm the one who made the tackle so from that point of view it is completely my fault.
"The red card was a major turning point in the game and that's on me, getting sent off.
