SNP's silence on Scots abuse cases speaks volumes

Scottish Government are “doing all they can... to block any kind of independent scrutiny or case review of organised child exploitation”.

It appears that the SNP is only concerned with justice for victims of sexual exploitation when they are not in Scotland.

Sturgeon, of course, was among the MSPs who voted against the establishment of a Scottish grooming gang inquiry.

Scottish Tory justice spokesman Liam Kerr proposed the move in an amendment to the new Victims, Witnesses, and Justice Reform Bill in September.

He spoke about the “terrifying lack of detail” on the gangs in Scotland, although it is known that at least three large-scale police investigations in Glasgow uncovered dozens of victims — many of them young girls in care.

But the SNP and the Greens teamed up to vote down the amendment.
