BRITAIN is set to attract record-breaking numbers of international tourists thanks to the popularity of TV shows and film.
Visitors are being lured to England after watching series such as The Crown, Downton Abbey, Bridgerton, Pride and Prejudice and Peaky Blinders.
Scotland, too, has seen a sharp rise in interest thanks to the runaway popularity of The Traitors, a trend expected to accelerate as the latest series launches tonight.
This surge in "screen tourism" is turning once under-the-radar locations into must-visit hotspots, as fans flock to historic estates, dramatic coastlines and iconic city streets.
Destinations such as the Highlands, Northumberland, the Black Country and North Wales are predicted to rival London in terms of their pulling power.
Nick de Bois, former chairman of the British Tourist Authority, said: "International visitors are set to grow again this coming year and that's very welcome but the harsh reality is we are losing our market share to other European destinations.
Stunning"That's why 2026 is so important to our brilliant tourism industry and judging by the results of the Starring Great Britain international campaign we are showcasing.
