Scots will be inspired, not intimidated, in Paris finale

SCOTLAND assistant coach Steve Tandy wants his side to rise to the occasion and “do special things” when they take on France in Saturday’s final game of the Six Nations.

The vast majority of the 80,000 crowd at the Stade de France will be roaring the home team on as they go for the win that will guarantee them the title. And, after beating Ireland in Dublin, the French are sure to be formidable opponents.

But defence specialist Tandy reckons his players will be inspired, not intimidated, by the atmosphere in Paris.

He said: “Six Nations, probably outside the World Cup, is the biggest tournament in the world. And France potentially winning the championship makes it even bigger.

“But the boys thrive in those environments and I think they get excited by it.
