Scots hero MacIntyre remembers moment he 'fired wrong man'
Scottish Daily Express
|July 10, 2025
BOB MacIntyre has lifted the lid on the rash decision that left him with his tail between his legs.
But, as he dreamt of making it back-to-back wins at the Genesis Scottish Open, the home hero said he would never back down from big calls.
The 28-year-old's career ascent is not stopping and his fearless nature on the course is matched by a courage of conviction off it.
MacIntyre and his team face issues head on, but he does admit one move a couple of years ago involving coach Simon Shanks left him backtracking.
The Oban left-hander said: "Overall, my whole career, I've just slowly navigated it.
"It's working out what you need, what works. It's just a learning curve.
"I'm someone who is not scared to take risks... but they are not rash.
"I make rash decisions on a golf course when I lose my temper and stuff.
"I have made one rash decision in the last probably, four, five years. That was when I was changing coach.
