NICK Reiner, son of Hollywood director Rob and his wife Michele, will be charged with two counts of first degree murder, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said yesterday.
The charges come after his parents were found stabbed to death at their home on Sunday.
The 32-year-old is in custody after officers tracked him to a Metro station 15 miles from the Hollywood couple's upmarket Los Angeles home.
Reiner's motel room had sheets blocking out the windows. There was blood in the shower and also smeared on the bed, it is claimed.
Rob, 78 — director of hit films including Spinal Tap, Stand By Me and When Harry Met Sally and his wife, 68, were found at home by their daughter Romy, 28, on Sunday afternoon. Their throats had been slit.
The previous night, Nick had joined his parents at TV host Conan O'Brien's Christmas party, where sources said he was “freaking everyone out”.
A source told People magazine: “Nick was acting crazy. He kept asking people if they were famous.”
Witnesses reported a “very loud argument” between Nick and his parents, apparently triggered by his refusal to return to rehab.
