Met Office is issuing yellow level warning
Downpour: Shoppers get soaked in Glasgow
DECEMBER is set for a soggy start after the Met Office issued a severe weather warning for Scotland.
Seventeen areas of the country are covered by the yellow alert, which starts at midnight tonight.
It will run until 9pm on the same day, with weather experts predicting two bands of rain to move slowly from west to east across the country.
Almost 2.5 inches inches of rain could fall in some parts, with up to 1.5 inches falling widely.
