Putin will be preparing for next war, warn troops

UKRAINIAN soldiers on the front line have dismissed the idea that a ceasefire will bring an end to the war with Russia.

In the muddy battlefields of the Kharkiv region in eastern Ukraine, soldiers who face Russian fighters daily say they are highly suspicious of all the diplomatic efforts.

They spoke after a coalition of European leaders, including Sir Keir Starmer, told Vladimir Putin to agree to a 30-day ceasefire starting today or face fresh sanctions.

Alina Shukh, 26, a senior sergeant in the Khartia Brigade, said pausing the conflict for days was impossible.
