Palace lift Shield as Slot feels more Wembley woe
LIVERPOOL can take comfort in the fact the winner of the Community Shield has not gone on to win the big one in May for the past six seasons.
But this will irk Reds head coach Arne Slot, inset, that they suffered more Wembley woe following a Carabao Cup loss here to Newcastle in March.
Yet, for Crystal Palace, it was Wembley joy for the second time in 85 days after beating big guns Manchester City back in May to lift the FA Cup.
Keeper Dean Henderson was a penalty hero that day as he denied Omar Marmoush and was at it again, this time in a shootout as Palace upset the odds.
