Pay as you drive plans slated as load of hot air

SCOTS face being forced to make numerous changes to their lives as part of “hot air” plans to hit net zero targets.
Councils are set to be given powers to introduce road charging where motorists would be forced to pay to drive their vehicles in that area.
Petrol and diesel cars would start being removed from roads in five years, with the aim of only having electric vehicles driven by 2045.
Ministers also want all fossil fuel heating systems out of homes, replaced with cleaner systems such as heat pumps and heat networks, with this needing done by 2045 as well. The proposals are included in the Scottish Government’s draft climate plan published yesterday.
