Heather's 109 seals a semi final spot as hosts India are beaten
HEATHER KNIGHT struck a superb century as England dug out a four-run win over hosts India to secure a place in the semifinals of the Women's Cricket World Cup.
Knight's 109 was the mainstay of England's 288-8, with India fighting back to take a flurry of late wickets.
In reply, India looked well placed after skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (70) and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana (88) both made half-centuries - only for England’s bowlers to exert late pressure and squeeze out India’s lower order.
Knight said: “Really pleased. Nice to get conditions that felt conducive to batting, I got myself in and then put the accelerator down.
