WILL FERRY appreciates the fact that European football is not a regular occurrence, which is why he wants Dundee United to make this opportunity count.

The Terrors take on UNA Strassen of Luxembourg in their Europa Conference League opener at Tannadice tomorrow evening.

As tough a task as it will be, Ferry would love to extend United's European run to the end of the year by getting through three qualifying rounds and into the group stage.

"It's crazy to think I'm going to be playing in Europe because it's not something I'd really thought about before," said the new United vice-captain, right.

"I know it's just qualifiers, but it's a chance to get to the group stages and play on that massive stage.
