Gaffer only cares about Dons ahead of awkward reunion with his old side

STEPHEN ROBINSON insists he couldn't care less about any “narrative” surrounding him when he takes Aberdeen to face St Mirren just a few weeks after quitting them.

Many will be watching to see what kind of reaction the man who guided Saints to Premier Sports Cup glory in December receives from the Paisley faithful in the Dons next outing after the international break on April 4.

But Robinson has more pressing things on his mind, namely ensuring the struggling Dons maintain or extend their three-point advantage over his old side, who sit just above second-bottom Kilmarnock on goal difference.

The Northern Irishman said: “It is not about me. It is about Aberdeen FC and this group of players.

“I don't care about the narrative about me. It is about us getting three points - that is the only thing we are going there for. We have to in order to make sure we stay away from that relegation playoff place. That is the reality.

“We have to handle that. We need to be big, strong and brave”
