Tragedy could be country's youngest ever drug death
AN ELEVEN-year-old girl believed to have fallen ill after taking ecstasy, has died.
Olivia Curley passed away at Glasgow's Royal Hospital for Children in the early hours of Monday.
The schoolgirl, who was a pupil at Hermitage Academy in Helensburgh, Argyll & Bute, is believed to have taken ill at home last Friday.
During the weekend, her condition deteriorated and an ambulance was called on Sunday.
Police Scotland is now investigating what, if it is conclusively proved was a death involving drugs, would be the youngest-ever case of its kind in Scotland.
STRENGTH
Last night Olivia's heartbroken mother paid tribute to her daughter, whom the family called "Liv", on social media.
Samantha Curley posted: "I honestly have no words. I am numb." The 36-year-old added: "My beautiful girl gained her angel wings today with everyone that loved her round her she passed peacefully.
"Away up to her nana waiting on her. I know she will be well looked after with Mum waiting on her.
