Lift off for Rocket man
Scottish Daily Express
|July 02, 2025
ITS customers revel in epic experiences, making waves along the capital's river, but there's even more to Rocket Rebel, the latest sightseeing speedboat from British marine trailblazer Thames Rockets (TR).
Engineering excellence and commercial innovation underpin the business that's now a leading outdoor tourist attraction, with global franchising potential and applications for its bespoke operating technology.
Launched 20 years ago by managing director Charlie Matheson, the catalyst for him was the “arrested development of the passenger boat industry.” TR grew out of his Guernsey tour business, which he then transferred to London, capitalising on the Thames setting amid magnificent landmarks like the London Eye and Tower Bridge.
With a focus on the best customer service and now with a freelance team of 30, TR has a £3million turnover and is “pushing for £5million as demand increases,” says Matheson

Cowardly Keir is worst PM
I CAN'T decide whether Keir Starmer is terminally stupid or he just thinks we all are. I watched his rambling press conference this week - which was supposed to be about the government's £800million initiative to save the High Street (which wouldn't need saving if Wrecker Reeves hadn't taxed businesses to hell and back) - and concluded he's not just THE most disastrous PM in history he's also a morally bankrupt coward who is 100% self-serving and will do anything to cling on to power.
