FOREIGN Secretary David Lammy has been caught breaking the law, after he posed fishing with JD Vance during the US vice-president's visit to Britain.
FOREIGN Secretary David Lammy has been caught breaking the law, after he posed fishing with JD Vance during the US vice-president's visit to Britain.
They were snapped enjoying the lake on the Chevening House estate in Kent, an official residence of Mr Lammy, earlier this week.
The American quipped at the time that the outing had put "a strain on the special relationship" as Mr Lammy failed to catch anything, unlike all of Mr Vance's children.
Now the bonding activity has sparked a political embarrassment as it has emerged Mr Lammy did not have a fishing licence.
Error
Such a licence is required when fishing — even on private land — in England and Wales.
