CHARLIE Kirk's widow told his memorial service she had forgiven his suspected killer as “it is what Charlie would do”.

Erika Kirk choked back tears while she addressed tens of thousands mourning the Turning Point USA founder at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

They included Donald Trump, members of the president's family, senior White House officials, Tesla tycoon Elon Musk and Republican lawmakers.

Mrs Kirk, 36, described seeing her husband's body in hospital after he was shot at Utah Valley University on September 10.

She said: "My husband, he wanted to save young men, just like the one who took his life.
