Junk food ads pulled from TV and online
Scottish Daily Express
|September 30, 2025
CHILDREN will see fewer adverts for unhealthy food from this week under a voluntary ban by firms ahead of a wider crackdown in January.
The move to tackle obesity will stop ads for food and drink high in fat, salt and sugar from being shown on television between 5.30am and 9pm, and online at any time.
The ban applies to products in 13 categories considered to play a key role in childhood obesity.
Chocolates
These include soft drinks, chocolates, sweets, pizzas and ice creams.
