Landmark goal can help Celtic to really take off under Nancy
KEEPING up his incredible scoring streak with the last kick of the season was a sweet moment for James Forrest.
But bagging a stoppage time clincher at the weekend was a much more important one.
Forrest has created too many incredible memories to list over 17 trophy-laden years at Celtic.
Rounding off the last campaign in style was one of them with Hoops fans desperate for the club legend to get on the scoresheet and make it a sensational 16 goal-grabbing seasons on the spin.
The 34-year-old left it late when he pounced at the death against St Mirren on the final day last term but it was a fitting end to another title triumph.
Yet Sunday's strike in stoppage time to clinch the 3-1 victory over 10-man Aberdeen felt more like a seminal moment than a ceremonial one.
Kieran Tierney’s 88th minute effort nudged the Hoops in front against the Dons when it looked like they were heading for a fifth winless game on the bounce to start Wilfried Nancy's Parkhead managerial career.
Forrest made sure there would be no stress to make it 17 scoring seasons and admitted the result was more important than any personal milestone.
