O’Neill will sign Prem players... but stays quiet on Well ace

MARTIN O'NEILL insists he DOES have his eye on the Scottish transfer market.

But the Celtic boss refused to be drawn on his weekend scouting mission at Fir Park after seeing his side book their place in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup with a 2-0 slog over Auchinleck Talbot.

But again it was events off the park that stole the show as fed-up fans repeatedly chanted "sign a player" at chief executive Michael Nicholson in the Rugby Park stands. O'Neill and assistant Mark Fotheringham were spotted in North Lanarkshire on Saturday as Jens Berthel-Askou's relentless Motherwell overcame Ross County.

Zimbabwe sensation Tawanda Maswanhise once again stole the show as he netted the decisive goal - and his 15th of the campaign.

Maswanhise, 23, has been one of the standout Premiership players this term and fits the profile of player Celts are keen on as O'Neill desperately looks to bolster his attacking options.
