Southport killer’s father tells of his shame

THE Southport killer's father said he was ashamed he did not save the three girls murdered by his son, as he apologised to the victims’ families yesterday.

Alphonse Rudakubana said he was “desperately sorry” for the relatives of Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, Bebe King, six, and Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, who were knifed by his son Axel in July 2024.

At the Southport Inquiry, he was told of the “complete disdain’ felt for him by the families and was asked if there was anything he wanted to say to them.

He said: “I cry for them all the time because I have a reminder [of] my son who turned to be a monster.

“T'm so ashamed. I lost the courage to save their little angels. 'm so sorry.
