Houses arrive for Social Bite second village

THE first “life-changing” homes have landed at the latest purpose-built, supported accommodation village by Social Bite — the Scots charity backed by Hollywood A-listers.

The arrival of the modular Nest Houses at Harriet Street in Rutherglen marks the next stage of construction. The project has an opening date in early 2026.

When completed, the £3million village will have 15 Nest Houses and a community hub with shared cooking facilities, spaces for group activities, therapeutic support and areas for social connection.

Day-to-day running of the village will be funded by South Lanarkshire Council and Social Bite. It will be managed by the Salvation Army, who will deliver specialist, round-the-clock support.
