GERS HAVEN'T SEEN IGAMANE IGNITE YET

FORMER Rangers assistant manager Issame Charai has warned Ibrox chiefs they haven’t seen anything close to the peak of Hamza Igamane’s potential yet.

The 22-year-old Moroccan striker is being tracked by French giants Lille but the Light Blues’ £15million valuation is proving a sticking point.

Charai played a key role in tipping off former Gers boss Philippe Clement last summer during his stint as Morocco Under-23 head coach, before he himself made the move to Glasgow in January.

The 43-year-old, who quit Ibrox two weeks ago to take over at Belgian top-flight outfit Westerlo, is reluctant to put a value on the head of a player who fired 16 goals during his debut campaign and still has another four years on his Ibrox contract.

But he was happy to open up on his belief that Igamane — who cost £1.7m just 12 months ago — will get even better with time.

And he has urged the Ibrox board to take that into account as they weigh up Lille’s interest.

Charai said: “You haven’t seen all that Hamza has to offer, he still has a lot of potential to show much more.
