Eze does it as Gunners keep Port Vale at bay

EBERECHI EZE scored his first goal for Arsenal as they beat League One side Port Vale 2-0 reach the fourth round.

The forward opened the scoring in the eighth minute when he slotted in from Gabriel Martinelli's pass.

The hosts battled well against their Premier League opponents. But Leandro Trossard made certain of Arsenal's place in the next round when he drove in late on. Joelinton and William Osula both scored twice as holders Newcastle United started their defence of the Carabao Cup with a comfortable 4-1 win against Bradford City.

Joelinton pounced on a loose ball inside the area to score the first in the 17th minute. Osula doubled the Toon lead two minutes later, latching on to Bruno Guimaraes' through-ball.
