Lee says Lennon loves new life in Italy despite a lack of games and club diet... but he still can't stomach the coffee
LENNON MILLER still doesn't know his espressos from his elbow.
But when it comes to realising what's best for his career in Italy, his dad Lee is pleased to see he's woken up and smelt the coffee.
The former Motherwell kid is seven months into his adventure by the Adriatic coast and settling in well with new club Udinese.
Things in Serie A couldn't be much further away from his old life at Fir Park.
But, while it's taken the 19-year-old - a stick-on starter for the Steelmen- time to adjust to his role as a squad player with the Bianconeri, the day-to-day activities off the pitch have proven easier to get his head around.
Mostly that's centred around the strict eating habits his new employers have insisted he follow after deciding he could drop a few pounds following his £4.75million move from Lanarkshire.
The new diet, however, is yet to extend to a classy coffee order, much to his old man's disappointment.
But Miller senior is convinced he'll find his feet in his new surrounds on the pitch sooner rather than latte! "He doesn't like coffee," groaned the former Dundee United, Hearts and Aberdeen striker. "I'm devastated! Over there they're frowning on you...
'You don't like cappuccino?" "But his Italian's coming on leaps and bounds. He's nearly there where he could do a full interview in Italian, which is incredible.
"He's only been there, what, seven months? "He's quite calm about the whole situation. He started five out of six games last month and has been involved a lot recently. He's shown up really well in a top league in Serie A. He's had loads of plaudits.
"He just wants to concentrate on his football and doing well.
"The training, the lifestyle, everything about it is different for him. I see a massive change in him.
