Ecuador is the most dangerous nation in Americas

ECUADOR is South and Central America’s most dangerous country yet, it does not actually produce cocaine.

The drug is manufactured in neighbouring Colombia as well as Peru and Bolivia. About one-third, or about 467 tons, of Colombian cocaine goes through Ecuador. In 2021, its value was just short of $1,000 million.

Speaking to The Guardian earlier this year, a member of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime said users in Britain need to know how their drug of choice is sourced.

Bob Van den Berghe, explained: “If someone is consuming one gram of cocaine, they should be aware that it doesn’t end up on the market just like that.
