Drugs boss tracked down in Morocco jailed for six years

THE head of a Scottish drugs gang who fled to Morocco has been jailed after being extradited to the UK.

Conor McGregor was caught after the authorities smashed the encrypted smartphone network EncroChat.

The 32-year-old masterminded an organised crime group that made almost £8million in a relatively short period of time.

It involved the sale and distribution of cocaine, cannabis and heroin.

McGregor, from Moray, also oversaw the financial side of the operation, regularly sending large sums of money to dealers in the Greater Manchester area.

He was in charge of the operation from May 2019 to July 2022.

McGregor also made use of multiple properties in the Moray area and elsewhere, and a number of vehicles, to store, conceal and move drugs and money.
